The Start
Spotify came to us with a clear objective: highlight Spotify’s cultural leadership and understanding through social-first content pieces. Through their partnership with Drumsheds, they wanted to celebrate club culture and the diverse sub-genres of the Dance and Electronic space. The content needed to be culturally relevant and ownable, whilst engaging fans, ultimately driving talkability across their key platforms

The Strategy
A long form social documentary celebrating the lifelong obsession and an undying love the iconic British genre that is Drum & Bass, in collaboration with Drumsheds, London. Breaking away from the expected and trending short form content, we told the genre's storied history via long-form documentary. We know that YouTube has taken over Netflix as a streaming platform, so we wanted this platform to be at the heart of the campaign. Across other touchpoints such as Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok, we looked to create specific content that was fit for purpose, in line with platform best practice.
The Solution
Engaging D&B legends, music journalists, archivists, and new gen DJs pushing the sound to explore the undying love of the Drum & Bass community, and it's importance in the UK music scene. Shot at Drumsheds in North London during the Worried About Henry show, the film features a hero interiew with D&B legend, DJ Flight, archive footage from Eddie Otechre, a varied soundtrack that touches on different subgenres of D&B to form a punchy, and an impactful edit that's made for social.
